The JobVine
To highlight how Seed Me, See Me, Feed Me works, just look at one of my ongoing initiatives: The JobVine.
The 'seed me' for this project was simple. Each friend on Facebook has hundreds of friends, they in turn have hundreds of friends repeat, repeat, repeat. The idea to seed this group was easy, a simple email and a link to The JobVine was sent out to hundreds of friends, these friends did the same as did their friends. Word of mouth broke and The JobVine started to grow.
Now the 'see me' part was even simpler. Hundreds of people are seeking work and The JobVine offers the chance for these people to find it, plus it allows them to seed their own piece of self-publication and post work opportunities that they come across. A fluent two-way community was born.
The 'Feed Me' step is self explanitory. Each jobseeker or opportunity giver simply connects with the other and from that full-time or freelance work is created.
This is Idea Crucial, Media No Obstacle in it's purest form but when we add to the mix Twitter feeds for jobs being placed on The JobVine, plus special events where JobVine members get to meet face to face the communication net begins to expand even more as do the opportunities for the creation of work.
The JobVine is a constant work in progress. As the name says, it's a vine and it grows organically. More ideas are being brought into place to help the vine florish but "Seed Me, See Me, Feed Me" is the ever present thought to keep making this happen.
